GREENSBORO, N.C.- The Saint Francis U softball team heads south to North Carolina to begin the 2015 campaign. The Flash opens the season against Coppin State on Friday followed by another game versus host, North Carolina A & T. First pitch is schedule for 11 a.m. against Coppin State and 1:30 p.m. against North Carolina A & T.
 
The tournament continues the rest of the weekend with another game with Coppin State and two with Morgan State to wrap up play.
 
SFU returns most of the starters from last season.  Alexis Bower (Cogan Station, Pa./Williamsport Area) and Taylor Parsons (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle) return after receiving postseason awards in 2014. Both players also received All-NE C Second Team selections in the preseason.
 
Last season at the NC A & T tournament, Saint Francis went 4-0 against Rider, North Carolina A & T, and Morgan State. The Flash outscored its opponents 42-6 in the four games played in the tournament. 
 
The Red Flash are 6-2 overall in the NC A & T tournament over the last two years.

Saint Francis U continues play in North Carolina as it travels to Raleigh to play in the NC State tournament Feb. 20-22.
