BOX SCORE 2 LORETTO, Pa. (March 2, 2015) – The Saint Francis U Men's Volleyball team split a pair of EIVA matches with Harvard and Sacred Heart this past week.
SFU fell to Harvard in three straight sets and then returned the favor to the Pioneers defeating SHU 3-0.
The Flash could not spark much offense in the matchup with Harvard as it had a team hitting percentage of .062.
Mike Marshman (Glenmont, N.Y./Bethlehem Central) led Saint Francis in kills with seven on the night. Keith Kegerrreis was the most efficient hitter in the match as he hit a whopping .429 clip. Saint Francis finished the match with scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-13.
In the matchup with Sacred Heart, the Flash turned up the heat had a back and forth shootout with the Pioneers.
Each set was exciting between the two teams as both SFU and SHU were in the set to the finish. The first frame ended with a score of 37-35. Both the second and third set ended with scores of 25-23.
As a team, the Flash had a great hitting percentage; as it racked up 50 kills and hit .312. Leading the way offensively was
Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria), hitting .423. During the match he and
Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) accumulated a team high in kills with 13.
Saint Francis returns to DeGol Arena to square off against Barton and Ohio State for it's next two matches.
