LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis softball team heads to Marshall on Tuesday for a midweek doubleheader.  The Red Flash will take on the Thundering Herd at Dot Hicks Field, with the first game starting at 2 p.m.

The Red Flash is 17-12 and riding an eight-game win streak after sweeping its doubleheader on Thursday against Lafayette.  SFU won the first game, 7-0, and earned a 9-1, mercy-rule win in the second game.

WIN STREAK
Saint Francis has won eight straight games, including five mercy-rule victories.  The Red Flash has averaged 9.5 runs per game and allowed only 2.6 runs per game, including four games of one or less runs.  SFU has hit 15 home runs.

Six Red Flash have hit .400 or better during the streak.  Sophomore Madison Cabell (Ivor, Va./Southampton) has led the team with a .529 average and driven in 10 runs.  Freshman Sierra McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) is batting .481 with 11 RBI, while Kindra Witthus (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) is hitting .429 with three home runs and nine RBI.  Junior Alexis Bower (Cogan Station, Pa./Williamsport Area) and freshman Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) each own a .409 average with Bower hitting three homers.  Freshman Hayley Norton (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) has hit three homers and driven in 14 runs, with a .385 average.

GOING YARD
In just 29 games, Saint Francis has hit 30 home runs this season.  That is just three homers shy of the program's single-season record.  Nine different players have at least one homer.

Norton and Jordan Seneca (Plum, Pa./Plum) are tied for the team-lead with seven homers.  With seven more, they will tie the individual single-season mark at SFU.  Norton has 33 RBI this season, while Seneca has 30.

Bower has four home runs, while Cheyenne McKee (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) and Kindra Witthus (Hudson, Wis./Hudson) each have three.

CHECK THE SCOREBOARD
Saint Francis has 10 or more runs in nine different games and 11 mercy-rule victories.  That's already the most double-digit run games in a season for SFU, topping six in 1988 and 1994.
