BROXVILLE, N.Y. – Former Saint Francis men's volleyball player Jordan Varee will be inducted into the EIVA Hall of Fame on Saturday, April 23nd. Varee will be the first Saint Francis player enshrined in the EIVA Hall of Fame.
Â
Varee will be joining Moyo Kasim (George Mason) and Bill Madara (Official) at the ceremony.
Â
"This year's class represents excellence across three generations," stated EIVA President Ron Shayka. "The EIVA has been built on the strong contributions of these two outstanding players and a world class volleyball official."
Â
Varee played for Saint Francis from 2007-10 for head coach
Mike Rumbaugh. During his time at Saint Francis, Varee was a four-time All-EIVA selection, earning First Team honors and Second Team honors two times each. Varee was honored as an AVCA All-American in 2009.
Â
After graduating from Saint Francis, Varee went on to play professionally in Sweden. Varee returned to Loretto in 2014 to become the men's volleyball assistant coach.
Â
Varee's name is found at or near the top of nearly every major statistical category in the school's record book. He ranks as the school's career leader in kills (1,864), attempts (3,879) and aces (145) and is the EIVA leader in career kills. He also ranks record in Saint Francis history in career digs (661), fourth in career hitting percentage (.291) and sixth in career blocks (297).
"I'm very excited for Jordan. Not only as a player for Saint Francis, but also as an advocate for volleyball. He has continued to give back to the sport by coaching high school, junior Olympics and on the collegiate level," said Rumbaugh.
