LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's and women's tennis team, led by Head Coach
Rob Castille, travels to the state of Ohio this weekend for two matches each. On Friday, the men's team plays Northern Kentucky at 9 a.m., while the women's team plays Wright State at 2 p.m., with both matches at South regency Tennis & Fitness Center. On Saturday, the Red Flash plays Dayton at the Five Seasons Sport Club, with the men's team playing at 1 p.m. and the women's team playing at 4 p.m.

The Red Flash men's team is 9-6 on the season. Last weekend, SFU fell 6-1 to Georgetown on Saturday, but defeated Mount St. Mary's, 7-0, on Sunday for its first NEC win of the year.

Jan Vit Suntar (Cerklje na Gorenjskem, Slovenia/Gimnazija Kranj) was named NEC Rookie of the Week after collecting a singles win and two doubles wins. He is 8-7 this spring in singles.

Washi Gervais (Longueuil, Quebec/College Stanislas) leads the team with 11 wins this spring, all at the No. 1 position. Sophomore
Alec Dylan Foo-Kune (Phoenix, Mauritius/International Connections Academy (Md.)) has eight wins at No. 2, while junior
Plamen Avuski (Plovdiv, Bulgaria /Math High School ) is 9-4 while splitting time at No. 4 and 5.Â

In doubles, Foo-Kune and Gervais are 11-4 at No. 1, while Avuski and Suntar are 12-3, splitting time at the second and third positions.

The Northern Kentucky men's team is 5-5 this season with wins over Cleveland State, Dayton, Findlay, Tennessee State and Youngstown State. Last weekend, they dropped Horizon League matches against Valparaiso and Illinois-Chicago. Mate Virag and Jody Maginley share the team-lead with seven wins this spring.

The Dayton men's team is 13-6 this year. Last weekend, they defeated St. Bonaventure, 7-0, but fell 6-0 to No. 60 Iowa. Jordan Benjamin has 11 of his 13 singles wins at No. 1, while Carsten Fisher is 12-7 with 11 wins at No. 2.

The Red Flash women's team is 4-11 this year after splitting last weekend. SFU fell 5-0 against Georgetown, but bounced back for a 6-1 win over Mount St. Mary's.Â

Wright State is 14-7 this season. Last weekend, they fell, 5-2, against Illinois-Chicago but defeated Valparaiso, 7-0. Nine of Karoline Haller's wins have come at the top singles spot. Megan Brdicka and Elaine Cloern have combined for an 18-2 doubles mark.

The Dayton women's team is 13-8 after wins last weekend over Butler and St. Bonaventure. Jade Kawamoto has 14 wins for the Flyers, while her twin sister, Jackie, has 13.
