LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis field hockey team used two second-half goals to down the Siena Saints, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at DeGol Field.
Kyra Castano (Laflin, Pa./James M. Coughlin) tallied the game-winning goal in the 65th minute.

Saint Francis (6-1) outshot Siena 15-4 and held a 12-8 advantage in penalty corners.

The Flash pressured early, earning two penalty corners in the match's opening five minutes. It was
Hannah Retherford (Benton, Pa./Benton) who struck first for SFU off a pass from
Shannon Pereira (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Francis Libermann Catholic). The sophomore convert on the penalty corner to give SFU the early 1-0 lead.

The Saints (1-3) scored the equalizer 20 minutes later after a goal by Molly Hagen. Not even a minute later, Siena's Fariyah Omarshah scored at the top of the circle to give the Saints a 2-1 lead heading into the half.

In the second half, SFU tied the score, 2-2, as
Brea Seabrook (Wilkes Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) weaved her way through traffic to beat Siena goalie Mary Crumlish in front of the cage. Castano scored the game-winner on a feed from
Brianna Govia (St. James, Trinidad/Holy Name) with 10 minutes left in the match.
