LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis field hockey picked up an early goal but could not hold on against A-10 foe Richmond, falling to the Spiders, 2-1, on Sunday at DeGol Field.
The loss snapped Saint Francis' (6-2, 0-1) six-game win streak.

Carly Gromel (Harveys Lake, Pa./Lake-Lehman) took advantage of the penalty corner and scored off the opportunity.
Brea Seabrook (Wilkes Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) earned the assist for the Flash. The goal came just 3:59 into the first half.
Saint Francis maintained its one-goal lead into the halftime break.
Kyra Castano (Laflin, Pa./James M. Coughlin) tried to sneak a goal past Richmond's Amanda Hoyt in the opening minutes of the second half, but Hoyt made a kick save to keep the score at 1-0 in favor of SFU.
Richmond (3-4, 1-0) countered to tie the score at 1-1 as Emma Johansson scored off a scramble in front of the net. Nealy Henderson was credited with the assist.
Kaitlyn DaSilva found Kelly Quinn off a penalty corner with just 12 minutes remaining to put UR ahead 2-1.
Richmond outshot Saint Francis, 9-4, and held a 12-1 advantage in penalty corners during the match.
Elizabeth Dyer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) recorded five saves for the Flash, while Hoyt earned two saves for the Spiders.
