PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Saint Francis field hockey team lost to Hofstra, 3-2, in a neutral site contest held at Rutgers University on Sunday afternoon.

Hofstra (6-4) struck first at the nine-minute mark. Claudia Marin Samper scored off a SFU turnover. Saint Francis (6-4) tied the match at 1-1 in the 13th minute when
Brea Seabrook (Wilkes Barre, Pa./GAR Memorial) scored her fifth goal of the season. Seabrook tipped in a pass from
Shannon Pereira (Toronto, Ontario, Canada/Francis Libermann Catholic) in the middle of the circle after a stopped corner.

The Pride scored with just 27 seconds remaining in the first period. Hofstra's Stella Schoen tipped in a shot from Colby Hussong.

Hofstra padded to their lead in the 55th minute. Emily Gallagher scored 10-yards out to put the Pride ahead 3-1.

Hannah Retherford (Benton, Pa./Benton) was able to fire a shot past Hofstra goalkeeper Lauren Saluts off a pass from Pereira with just 45 seconds to play.

The Pride outshot the Flash 28-4 and held a 10-1 advantage in penalty corners.
Elizabeth Dyer (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) recorded nine saves in net.
