LORETTO, Pa. – Junior receiver Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) was named the NEC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in leading Saint Francis football to a 30-14 win at Bryant on Saturday.  Lewis was also an honorable mention for STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week.

The junior has lived up to the All-America hype so far this season, currently ranking sixth in the FCS in receptions per game (8.2), 15th in receiving yards (619), 12th in receiving yards per game (103.2) and 13th in receiving touchdowns (6).  Lewis has two 100-yard games, two games with 10 or more receptions and five games with at least one touchdown reception this season.

Lewis' biggest performance of the season, and his career, came in Saturday's victory at Bryant.  The Preseason All-America selection set career highs with 15 receptions for 202 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown reception.

The Fresno, Calif. native became the second SFU player to record over 200 receiving yards in a game, joining Michael Caputo, who had 294 yards against Sacred Heart in 2005.  His 15 receptions are the third-most in by an SFU player.  Lewis now has a touchdown catch in nine of his last 10 games.

Lewis' 15 catches included receptions of 21, 22 and 48 yards and helped to pick up nine first downs.  He contributed to two SFU scoring drives.

With 2,204 career receiving yards, Lewis moved into third place all-time at SFU, passing Luke Palko (2003-06).  He is 237 yards behind Antoine Rivera (2005-09) for second place.  Lewis is now also 14th all-time in receiving yards in NEC history.

Lewis' 17 career touchdowns are good for fourth all-time at SFU, three behind Rivera.  His 135 career receptions are also nine away from tying Todd Eckenroad (1991-93) for fifth all-time at SFU.

The Red Flash, led by Head Coach Chris Villarrial, is 4-2 overall and 2-0 in NEC play heading into a big conference matchup at Duquesne.  The Dukes are 5-1 overall and also 2-0 in league action.  SFU and Duquesne shared the NEC Title in 2016, with the Red Flash receiving the conference's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs due to a 14-10 win over the Dukes at DeGol Field.
