LORETTO, Pa. – After shutting down opposing receivers all season, Saint Francis senior cornerback Malik Duncan (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Central Catholic) has earned national respect.  On Wednesday, he picked up two All-America selections, giving him four this year.  Duncan was named Third Team All-America by HERO Sports and Fourth Team All-America by Phil Steele.

Duncan joins safety Lorenzo Jerome (Sunrise, Fla./J.P. Taravella) (2016) and receiver Kamron Lewis (Fresno, Calif./Edison) (2016) as Saint Francis players to be named All-America by four or more publications in a season.  In addition to his recognition by HERO Sports and Phil Steele, Duncan has earned All-America honors from College Sports Madness and STATS FCS.

The Cleveland native was a key part of SFU's dominant defense, which ranked fifth in the nation in scoring defense, 10th in total defense, sixth in pass defense, third in pass efficiency defense and fourth in red zone defense.  Duncan shut down half the field to earn First Team All-NEC honors.  He was a Second Team All-NEC selection in 2016.

The Cleveland native collected 41 tackles, four pass breakups, three interceptions, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble.  Duncan made 26 of his 41 tackles on run plays, with six of those tackles holding opposing ball carriers to one or less yard.

In NEC play, Duncan allowed only three completed passes, with only one of those going for longer than 10 yards.  Duncan has not allowed a touchdown catch in 28 straight games, dating back to his sophomore season.

Duncan recorded three interceptions this season.  He opened the season with SFU's first touchdown of the year, a 30-yard pick-six against Lock Haven on their opening drive.  He added an interception in the win at No. 22 Liberty and one in the game against NEC champion Central Connecticut State.  Duncan's 28 career pass breakups are good for fourth all-time at SFU.

The senior was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, given by STATS FCS to the top defensive player in the FCS, and received invites to the FCS Bowl and Dream Bowl.
