LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women's tennis team hosts Lafayette on Saturday at the Greensburg Racquet Club. The Red Flash meets its in-state rival for a 5:30 p.m. match.
The Red Flash, led by Head Coach
Rob Castille, is 2-5 this season after splitting two matches last weekend. SFU fell 6-1 against Carnegie Mellon last Saturday but bounced back for a 6-1 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday.
Freshman
Kathryn Dunleavy (Farmington Hills, Mich./Mercy) and sophomore
Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) each have four wins this spring. Dunleavy's wins have all come at No. 5, while Miller has played at No. 3 and No. 4.
Sophomore
Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) and freshman
Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) have three dual match wins this year. Bode has played at No. 3 and No. 4, with Seigford lining up at the No. 2 position. Freshman
Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) picked up her first win at No. 1 last weekend.
In doubles, Gutierrez and Seigford have combined to go 3-3 at No. 1. Bode and Miller are 3-4 at No. 2 doubles.
The Leopards are 2-3 this spring. Lafayette has wins over La Salle (6-1) and St. Francis Brooklyn (7-0) and losses against Monmouth (4-3), Fairfield (5-2) and St. Joseph's (7-0).
