LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis men's basketball sophomore Josh Nebo (Houston, Texas/Cypress Lakes) and freshman Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./The Lawrenceville School) led the Red Flash to two road wins this past weekend and were rewarded for their performances by the Northeast Conference on Monday.  Nebo was named NEC Player of the Week, while Braxton won his sixth NEC Rookie of the Week award.

The duo led SFU to its first Brooklyn sweep since 1993-94 as the Red Flash earned a 78-61 win at St. Francis Brooklyn on Thursday and an 80-78 victory at LIU Brooklyn on Saturday.  SFU now has five NEC road wins this year, marking the fourth time in program history that SFU has had at least five road wins in a season.

Braxton is now one of just nine players in conference history that have won six NEC Rookie of the Week awards.  He is two away from tying the NEC record, held by four different players, most recently by CCSU's Kyle Vinales in 2011-12.

Nebo earns his first career NEC Player of the Week award after averaging 21.5 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, while shooting 64 percent from the field.

In Thursday's win at St. Francis Brooklyn, Nebo posted his fifth double-double this season, including a career-high 24 points.  He added 11 rebounds, an assist and a block.  His 24 points included four dunks.  Nebo scored 14 of his 24 points in the second half.

On Saturday against LIU Brooklyn, Nebo contributed 19 points, on 8-of-12 shooting, with three rebounds, three blocks and a steal.  He scored 12 points in the first half.

The Houston native now has 112 career blocks, moving him ahead of Jerry Mack (109, 1985-89) for sole possession of second place all-time at Saint Francis.  Nebo is 25 blocks away from all-time SFU record, held by Melvin Scott (1996-01).  His 53 blocks this year ranks 24th in Division I.

On the season, Nebo is averaging 12.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and an NEC-best 2.3 blocks per game.

Braxton recorded his sixth double-double of the season in the win at St. Francis Brooklyn with 13 points and 13 rebounds as he hit five-of-eight shots.  He added two assists, a block and a steal.

In Saturday's win at LIU Brooklyn, Braxton filled the stat sheet with eight points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.  Braxton made a couple key plays late in the game, including a go-ahead layup with 2:29 to go.

The New Jersey native is averaging 12.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game this season, while shooting 52 percent from the floor and 46 percent from three.   In NEC play, he is contributing 15 points and nine rebounds per contest.

Braxton currently ranks second among Division I freshmen in rebounds per game, trailing UCLA's T.J. Leaf by only 0.2 boards.  Braxton averages 1.5 more rebounds per game than any other freshman guard.  With 6.8 defensive rebounds per game, he leads all Division I freshman and ranks third among all Division I guards.

The Red Flash is 11-12 overall and 8-4 in the NEC, riding a four-game win streak into Thursday's contest against Wagner at DeGol Arena.  Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Fox College Sports and MSG Network.  The Seahawks are 11-11 overall and 7-5 in conference play.
