DAYTONA BEACH, FL- Brandon Mihalo (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/Holy Names Catholic) shot a final round 73 and SFU shaved five shots off as a team from Monday's round to finish in sixth place at the Lonnie Barton Invite hosted by LIU Brooklyn.Â
Mihalo shot the low round of the tournament for Saint Francis on Tuesday, firing a one-under 71 to vault fifteen spots into a fourth-place individual finish.
Austin Renz (Danville, Pa./Danville) was in a four-way tie for first with a one-over 73 on Monday and shot a day-two 80 to finish in a tie for 12th overall.
Ben Morgret (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) shot a 76 on Monday but could not replicate the success on Tuesday, shooting an 84 to finish in 30th place overall.
Dom Stevens (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) matched his 81 on Monday with an 81 on Tuesday and finished 40th overall.Â
Also scoring for the Red Flash on Tuesday was
Kurtis Straw (Johnstown, Pa./Bishop McCort), the graduate student was one-shot better in his final round than his opening, firing a Tuesday 82 and finished 51st.
Hunter Shields (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) backed up his Monday round of 80 with a final round 86 and finished in 56th.
Jacob Wilson (Sharon PA/Kennedy Catholic) knocked five shots off Monday's round to shoot a Tuesday 82 and rise to 61st. Freshman
Conall Mullarkey (London, Ontario, Canada/Regina Mundi) matched his 89 from Monday with a final round 89,
Jonathan Lee (Frederick, MD/Frederick) dropped a shot from his opening round 90 and
Greg Ferguson (Altoona, Pa./Tyrone) Jr. knocked five shots off his game to shoot 87 on Tuesday.Â
As a team, SFU dropped five shots off its team total to shoot 314 on Tuesday, one shot better than Bryant for sixth overall. The Red Flash were third amongst NEC teams at the tournament which is played on the same course as the NEC Championships next month. Longwood ran away with the tournament, shooting a team score of five-under on Tuesday to finish +15 overall, 23 shots better than Fort Wayne.Â

Austin Renz (Danville, Pa./Danville)' shot a one-over 73 and finds himself in a four-way tie for first place and led SFU to a sixth-place standing after round one of the Lonnie Barton Invite hosted by LIU Brooklyn.Â
Renz matched his low round from the fall, shot at the OBX Invite, with his opening round 73. He is tied with three others for the top individual spot, one shot ahead of another four golfers.
Ben Morgret (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) finds himself in a log-jam at four-over par after his opening round 75 and sits in a tie for 13th place overall.
Brandon Mihalo (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/Holy Names Catholic)'s 78 has him five in back of the leaders and in a tie for 19th, giving SFU three golfers in the top 20.
Hunter Shields (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) posted the Red Flash's fourth top score of the day, shooting an opening round 80 to sit in a tie for 29th. Rounding out the SFU "A" team was Dominic Stevens who sits in a tie for 37th with an opening round 81. With this being the first tournament of the season, SFU brought their entire team. As a team, the Red Flash shot a team score of 319, which places them at 31-over par and in sixth-place overall. The Red Flash are just two shots in back of Towson for fifth and four in back of Robert Morris for fourth. Everyone is chasing Sacred Heart who leads with a team score of 306.Â
