Geesey Earns NFF Hampshire Honor Society Membership

LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis football senior kicker Lance Geesey (Harrisburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) was named to the National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday.  Geesey is one of 1,089 players, across all divisions of college football, to earn the honor this year.
 
To qualify for the Hampshire Honor Society, a player must be a starter or significant contributor, maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA throughout their college career and must be making reasonable progress towards a degree.
 
Geesey joins Luke McConnell (2012), Jeff Wasilewski (2013), Matt Camilletti (2015) and Anthony Damiano (2015) as SFU football members honored with NFF Scholar-Athlete awards.
 
Geesey graduated with his bachelor's degree in December 2015 with a 3.92 GPA as a double major in management and marketing.  He completed his Master of Business Administration degree in December, posting a 3.96 GPA.
 
The Harrisburg native was a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
 
On the field, Geesey finished his Red Flash career as the school's all-time leader in field goals made (57), attempted (75), percentage (76), PATs made (123) and points (294). 
 
Geesey tied Duquesne's Austin Crimmins for the NEC career record and ranks third all-time in NEC history in points.  Geesey has SFU's four highest season field goals totals.
 
This season, Geesey hit 12-of-20 attempts, with a long of 50 yards.  He converted all 39 extra-point attempts, setting an SFU season record, and averaged 58.2 yards per kickoff with 17 touchbacks.
 
Geesey earned invitations to the FCS Bowl and Dream Bowl V.  He was named Special Teams MVP of Dream Bowl V after setting the game's scoring record with five PATs, all from NFL range, and hitting a 40-yard field goal.
 
Collecting numerous honors throughout his career, Geesey was the 2015 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Placekicker of the Year.  He was a 2015 FCS All-America selection by the Athletics Directors' Association and the American Football Coaches Association.  Geesey was a two-time First Team All-NEC honoree.
