Men’s Volleyball Visits Harvard, SHU for Final Regular Season Road Contests

LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's volleyball team visits Harvard and Sacred Heart for a pair of EIVA matches this weekend. Both matches are slated to start at 7 p.m.
 
Saint Francis, led by head coach Mike Rumbaugh, enters the weekend with an 11-14 overall record and is 6-4 in conference play after knocking off NJIT and Princeton. Saint Francis is currently tied with Harvard for second in the EIVA.  
 
BIG THREE
Jeff Hogan (Northern Cambria, Pa./Northern Cambria), Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) and Michael Fisher (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley (Pepperdine)) all rank in the top-seven in kills in the EIVA. Hogan leads the pack with 333, while Braswell ranks fifth with 261 and Fisher's 253 is seventh. The trio has accounted for 847 kills or 70 percent of the team's kills.
 
ABOUT THE CRIMSON
Harvard is 9-10 overall and 6-4 in EIVA play after a weekend sweep over the University of Charleston.
 
In both wins, Casey White led the Crimson with 22 kills and hit .358. Marko Kostich dished out 42 assists and added 11 digs over the weekend. Trevor Dow recorded seven blocks.
 
White leads the Crimson with 201 kills, 138 digs and averages 2.64 kills per set. Kostich has a team-leading 364 assists, while Trevor Dow leads the squad with 66 blocks. As a team, Harvard ranks sixth in the NCAA in blocks per set, averaging 2.49.
 
ABOUT THE PIONEERS  
Sacred Heart will look to snap a six-match losing this weekend and holds a 12-9 overall record and is 5-5 in the conference. The Pioneers dropped a pair matches last weekend to George Mason.  
 
Christopher DeLucie led SHU with 24 kills over the weekend. Joshua Ayzenberg recorded 22 digs, while Michael Comens added 15.
 
DeLucie paces the Pioneers' offense with 234 kills and averages 3.39 kills per set, while Comens ranks second on the squad with 170 kills. Ayzenberg leads SHU with 213 digs and leads the EIVA in digs per set (3.13) and is second in digs. Taylor Blommquist is second in the conference in hitting percentage (.346) and leads the EIVA with 1.15 blocks per set.
 
SERIES HISTORY
Saint Francis trails the all-time series against Harvard, 8-10, and leads the all-time series against Sacred Heart, 15-2. SFU fell to Harvard in five sets on Feb. 18, but defeated Sacred Heart, 3-1, on Feb. 17.

NEXT TIME OUT…
Saint Francis hosts George Mason and the University of Charleston next weekend for the final home matches of the season. Friday's match against George Mason is set for 7 p.m., while Saturday's match against the University of Charleston is scheduled for 4 p.m., and will be Senior Day.
