LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis football team has added three transfers for the 2017 season.  Quarterback Bear Fenimore (Austin, Texas/Westwood), defensive back Corey Johnson (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton) and receiver Jorge Solano (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs Charter) are set to join the Red Flash.

Fenimore is a graduate transfer, with two years of eligibility left, from the University of Houston.  After redshirting in 2014, he did not see any playing time in 2015 or 2016.  Fenimore earned First Team All-District and Honorable Mention All-State accolades as a senior at Westwood High School, throwing for 3,014 yards and 23 touchdowns, while rushing for eight touchdowns. The Austin, Texas native holds Westwood records for most passing yards in a game (517), completions in a game (41), passing yards in a season (3,014), completions in a season (248), pass attempts in a season (417) and career pass attempts (750).  He led the Warriors to three state playoff appearances.  Fenimore was rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com, ESPN and Rivals.com, receiving offers from Houston, Colorado State, Illinois and Rutgers.  He majored in Retail Consumer Science at Houston.

Johnson is a freshman after playing last season at Air Force Academy Prep. The Alexandria, Va. native played the previous four years at Bishop Ireton High School.  Johnson was a three-time All-State selection, earning First Team honors as a senior.  In 2015, Johnson recorded 55 tackles, 23 solo, an interception and seven pass breakups. In his Cardinals career, Johnson had 176 tackles, 10 interceptions and 24 pass breakups.

Solano is a graduate transfer from Fordham University, where he helped the Rams to an 8-3 record in 2016.  He made nine starts last season and caught 24 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns. He missed the 2014 and 2015 seasons due to injury after hauling in 10 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown as a freshman.  He is also a dangerous kick returner, setting Fordham records with 43 returns and 909 return yards, averaging 21.1 yards per return. In 2013, he returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown while playing against the Red Flash.

Saint Francis, led by Head Coach Chris Villarrial, will kickoff the 2017 season at DeGol Field on September 2 vs. Lock Haven.  The Red Flash looks to defend its NEC title after winning the conference, and earning an FCS Playoffs bid, for the first time as a Division I program.
