NEW ORLEANS - The accolades for senior track and field distance runner
Bryce England (Williamsburg, Pa./Williamsburg) continue to roll in as he was selected to the 2017 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team last Friday.
To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have met at least one of the following athletic standards:
- For the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
- For the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
England was named the NEC's Most Outstanding Distance Runner after winning the 5k and 10k at the conference championship and was a Fall, Winter and Spring NEC-Scholar Athlete.
He finished the 2016-17 academic year strong by placing on the Academic All-District Team and qualifying for the NCAA East Preliminary in the 10,000 meter run.
England holds a 3.964 cumulative grade-point average as a double major in biology and spanish and earned a 4.0 gpa during the spring semester.
