Loretto, Pa. - The Red Flash are looking to conclude the regular swim season with a winning record for the sixth season in a row. For the second year in a row, the regular swim season will conclude at the Western PA Invite, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh. Last season at the Western PA Invite, Karilyn Quon (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) had the top individual event finish, touching second in the 500 freestyle in a pace of 5:10.68. Quon also placed fourth in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in a time of 1:56.16.

Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen) also had a strong showing at this event last year. In the 500 freestyle, Lafferty placed third with a time of 5:17.50. In the 200 freestyle, Lafferty claimed ninth place with a time of 1:58.28.

Erin O'Neill (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) had strong showings in both of the breaststroke events. O'Neill placed ninth in the 100 breaststroke, touching the wall in a time of 1:07.96. In the 200 breaststroke, O'Neill followed closely behind Emma Karell (Norrtälje, Sweden/Täby Swim Club) for fifth place finish. O'Neill touched the wall in a time of 2:28.84. Karell took the fourth place spot in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:28.53.

The Red Flash placed fifth and fourth in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle, respectively. Three members of the  fifth place 200 medley relay team return to action this weekend including Lafferty, O'Neill, and Quon. They combined for a time of 1:49.42. Lafferty, Alicia Tiberino (Potomac, Md./Winston Churchill), and O'Neill all return from the fourth place 200 freestyle relay team. They combined for a time of 1:39.49.
