Indianapolis, IN – After the final round of the Butler Fall Invitational, the Saint Francis women's golf team placed eighth. As a team, the Red Flash shot a team score 656.
Saint Francis finished in eighth place after shooting a two-day combined score of 656. The Red Flash finished 10 strokes better than ninth place Delaware State and four strokes behind seventh place Chicago State. Butler was the overall winner shooting a combined team score of 610, defeating Indiana State by 22 strokes.
Allison Appleton (Millersville PA/Penn Manor) shot the low round for the Red Flash on Tuesday carding an 80 (+8). Appleton was among the tournament leaders in par-4 scoring averaging 4.50 strokes per par-4 played. She led Saint Francis in scoring for the tournament shooting a combined score of 162, placing her in a tie for twenty-first with seven others.
Nicolette Dilluvio (Westbury, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) and Michelle Cabotaje (Fort Washington, MD/Bishop McNamara) finished two strokes behind Appleton carding 164's in two days. Dilluvio thrived on par-5's averaging 4.75 strokes playing them at -1 for the tournament. Cabotaje carded an 83 (+13) on her final day of the Butler Invitational. Dilluvio and Cabotaje finished the tournament tied for thirty-third.
Abbey Richards (Dunlo, Pa./Forest Hills) and Madison Krug (Loretto, Pa./Penn Cambria) carded a 167 and 177 respectively. Richards played the Par 5's extremely well carding -1 for the tournament and averaging 4.75 strokes per par-5 played. She finished the invite tied for forty-sixth, while Krug placed sixty-first.
