LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Women's Tennis team is set to host a pair of matches at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville this weekend. The Red Flash takes on Bucknell on Friday at 4 p.m. and Detroit on Saturday at 5 p.m.

The Red Flash, led by Head Coach
Rob Castille, is looking for its first win of the season after an 0-6 start. Saint Francis suffered a tight 4-3 loss against Carnegie Mellon, ranked 10th in the ITA Division III Poll, and a 4-1 setback against Dayton last weekend.

In the match against Carnegie Mellon, sophomore
Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) earned a win at No. 1 singles, while juniors
Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) and
Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School)s picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Bode and Miller also combined for a win at No. 2 doubles.

Sophomore
Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) and freshman
Nastasia Tamarkin (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) claimed a doubles win at No. 1 against Dayton. Later in the match, Gutierrez won a singles match at No. 2.

Bode and Gutierrez are tied for the team-lead with six overall wins, with both owning two dual match victories. Tamarkin has three wins overall, two this Spring, while Miller and Seigford both have two overall wins.

Gutierrez and Tamarkin are 7-6 overall, including a 2-3 mark at No. 1, while Bode and Miller are 1-1 this Spring at No. 2.

Bucknell is 4-1 overall this season. The Bison own wins against Niagara (6-1), St. Bonaventure (6-1), LaSalle (7-0) and Wagner (7-0). Last weekend, Bucknell fell 7-0 against Drexel before defeating the Seahawks. Mishi Papich leads the team with nine overall wins, including a 4-1 record this Spring, while Lisa Jouravieva is 4-1 at No. 1 singles. Jouravieva and Paige Leavy have paired up for a 4-1 record at No. 1 doubles.

Detroit is 2-5 this Spring with wins over Findlay (7-0) and Niagara (6-1). Last weekend, the Titans fell 4-3 against Chicago State but bounced back to knock off Niagara. Iris Thioux has three wins at No. 1 this Spring, while Jasmine Apawti is 3-2 at No. 2 and Sophie Torcello is 4-2 at No. 3.Â
