LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Men's Tennis team wraps up a six-match homestand this weekend as it hosts Youngstown State and Northern Kentucky. The Red Flash meets the Penguins on Friday for a 2 p.m. match at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville. On Sunday, SFU welcomes NKU for a 1 p.m. battle at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center in Pittsburgh.

Rob Castille, is 1-7 this season after picking up its first win of the year last weekend. Saint Francis knocked off Bucknell, 4-3, last Saturday, but fell 5-2 against Detroit on Sunday.

Franz Luna (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Laurel Springs) won both of his matches at No. 1 singles last weekend and combined with freshman
Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica) for two wins at No. 2 doubles.Â

Alec Dylan Foo-Kune (Phoenix, Mauritius/International Connections Academy (Md.)) earned a win at No. 2 singles and Pinos picked up a victory at No. 3 against Bucknell. Sophomore
Eduardo Garcia (Toluca, Mexico/Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico) earned his first win of the season, at No. 5, against the Bison. Foo-Kune and Garcia helped to clinch the doubles point against Detroit with a win at No. 1.

Foo-Kune and Luna are tied for the team-lead in wins with 8-7 singles records. Luna is 5-3 this Spring, playing mostly at No. 1, while Foo-Kune is 4-3, playing mostly at No. 2. Pinos is 7-8 overall and 3-5 in dual matches. Garcia is 1-4 this Spring, while junior
Chad Allender (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and sophomore
Samuel Miller (Smithfield, R.I./Homeschool) are looking for their first singles wins.

Luna and Pinos are 7-5 overall, including 4-4 at No. 2 doubles. Foo-Kune and Garcia are 1-3 at No. 1 doubles this Spring.

Youngstown State is 3-6 this Spring. The Penguins own wins over Alabama State (4-0), Niagara (7-0) and Bucknell (6-1), but have dropped matches against Duquesne (4-3), DePaul (4-3), Southern Miss (5-2), Butler (7-0), Indianapolis(6-1) and Carnegie Mellon(4-3). Joao Garretto leads the Penguins with a 5-4 record at No. 1 singles. Vasileios Vardakis is 5-4, while playing mostly at No. 2 and Danylo Veremeichuk is 5-3, playing mostly at No. 3. Garretto and Veremeichuk are 3-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Northern Kentucky has a 2-3 record this season. The Norse have wins over Pikeville (7-0) and Thomas More (7-0), but fell against Kentucky (7-0), Eastern Kentucky (6-1) and Dayton (7-0). NKU plays Duquesne on Saturday before meeting the Red Flash on Sunday. Jorge Rodriguez is 2-1 this season, with two wins at No. 3. Andrew Niehaus owns a win at No. 1.
