LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Women's Tennis team is set for a 2 p.m. match against Youngstown State on Friday at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville. The Red Flash will conclude a five-match homestand.

The Red Flash, led by Head Coach
Rob Castille, is 1-7 this season, but earned its first win, 5-2, over Bucknell last Friday. SFU fell 5-2 against Detroit on Saturday.

Saint Francis won the doubles point and four singles matches against Bucknell. Sophomore
Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) earned a win at No. 2 singles, while juniors
Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) and
Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Â Freshman
Nastasia Tamarkin (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) picked up a win at No. 5 singles and combined with Gutierrez for a win at No. 1 doubles. Miller and sophomore
Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) won at No. 2 doubles.Â

On Saturday, Miller collected a win at No. 4 singles, while Tamarkin gained a victory at No. 5 singles. Miller and Seigford combined for another win at No. 2 doubles.

Bode and Gutierrez are tied for the team-lead with seven overall wins. Bode is 3-5 this Spring, playing all of her matches at No. 3. Gutierrez has two wins at No. 2. Tamarkin has five wins overall, including four at No. 5, while Miller has four wins and Seigford has two. Miller has four wins at No. 4 singles and Seigford has one this Spring.

Gutierrez and Tamarkin are 8-7 overall in doubles, including a 3-4 mark at No. 1. Miller and Seigford have paired up for a 2-1 record at No. 2.

Youngstown State is 3-7 this season, owning wins over UC Riverside (4-3), Niagara (7-0) and Bucknell (5-2) in its last three matches. YSU has dropped matches against Pitt (6-1), Duquesne (5-2), Eastern Michigan (5-2), Bowling Green (6-1), Toledo (5-2), UNLV (4-0) and Colorado State (4-3). Noelly Nsimba is 4-4 this Spring at No. 1, while Anastasiia Khokhlova has six wins, including three at No. 3 singles.Â
