Caitlyn Kroll (Bridgeport, Ohio/Bridgeport)Â earned her league-leading fifth NEC Rookie of the Week award as she helped guide the Red Flash to two key road wins over Central Connecticut and Bryant.Â
Kroll averaged 17.5 points per game over the weekend, upping her season average to 13.5 points per game, good for sixth in the NEC and tops among freshmen. On Saturday, Kroll hit a pair of big threes and was 6-6 from the foul line as she dropped 12 points, three rebounds and three assists in the comeback over CCSU. On Monday, Kroll shined in the ESPN3Â spotlight, earning player of the game honors with a 23 point, 6 assist, three steal effort in a 94-78 triumph. It was just the second win all time for the Red Flash in Smithfield.Â
Kroll and the Red Flash wrap up the regular season with a trip to the Mount before hosting Wagner on Senior Day.
