LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Women's Tennis team is set for matches against Carnegie Mellon and Dayton this weekend at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville. The Red Flash takes on Carnegie Mellon on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Dayton on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Junior
Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) and sophomore
Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) earned a 6-4 win at No. 2, but SFU dropped the doubles point. SFU bounced back to win three singles matches, but came up short in the overall match score.Â

Bode is tied for the team-lead with five overall wins after her 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3 last week. Freshman
Nastasia Tamarkin (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) picked up her third victory of the year, and second of the Spring, a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5, while junior
Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) claimed her first win with a 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 victory at No. 4.

Sophomore
Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) is tied with Bode with a team-high five overall wins. Seigford has one singles win this year.

Gutierrez and Tamarkin lead the squad with a 6-5 overall doubles record, while Bode and Seigford are 1-1 this Spring.

Carnegie Mellon is ranked 10th in the ITA Division III Poll. The Tartans are 5-1 this season, with wins over Grove City, Seton Hill, Oberlin, Christopher Newport and Slippery Rock. However, CMU fell 7-0 last weekend against Duquesne. SFU dropped a 6-1 decision against Carnegie Mellon last season.

Dayton is 2-3 this season. The Flyers started the season with an 0-3 mark, but picked up two victories last weekend. Dayton defeated Cleveland State, 5-2, last Friday and Wright State, 4-3, last Sunday.
