The Red Flash Falls to No. 9 Ohio State, 3-0

Loretto, Pa.- The Saint Francis men's volleyball team hung with No. 9 Ohio State Friday night at DeGol Arena, but the Buckeyes prevailed, 3-0. The Flash fell, 18-25, 18-25, and 19-25.
 
With the loss, Saint Francis falls to 8-14 on the season, while Ohio State improves to 15-4.
 
Senior Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) led the Flash with 6 kills and chipped in with 6 digs on the match. Brandon Buck (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) added 5 kills while Joseph Koszelak (North Tonawanda, N.Y./St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute) recorded 14 assist. Defensively, Cole Thompson (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos) led the team with 8 digs.
 
 
Set One
Both teams open the first set trading points before the Buckeyes would go on a 9-1 run and force SFU to call a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Buckeyes would continue to apply pressure until the Red Flash would fight back and cut things to five, 23-18. Two OSU kills would put the set away, 25-18.
 
Set Two
The Buckeyes open the second set with a 8-3 lead before a few Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) kills would help the Flash climb back to tie things up at 13-13. The Buckeyes would come out of a timeout with another run to take a 19-15 lead and force SFU to take a timeout. From there it was all OSU, as they would take the set, 25-18.
 
Set Three
Ohio State responded in the third set with a 25-19 win. The Flash would keep things within reach until the Buckeyes would go on a late run to pull out the victory.
 
Saint Francis will look to bounce back tomorrow as they head to State College to take on EIVA rival Penn State. The match will begin at 4 p.m.
