Loretto, Pa.- The Saint Francis men's volleyball team falls to conference rival Sacred Heart in three sets on Thursday night at William H. Pitt Center. The Red Flash fell 28-30, 22-25, and 21-25.
The loss drops the Flash to 8-16 and 3-6 in conference play, while Sacred Heart improves to 5-11 and 1-8 in the EIVA.

Stephen Braswell (Manchester, Pa./Northeastern) chipped in 8 kills while posting 11 digs defensively.

Set One
Sacred Heart got off to a 7-3 lead to begin the opening set before SFU would battle back to tie things up at 10. A few
Brandon Buck (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) kills would help the Red Flash go on a little run until the Pioneers would eventually fight back to keep the match close at 18. The rest of the set was a back and forth battle as SHU would eventually pull away to take the set, 30-28.
Set Two
Sacred Heart would carry their momentum into the second set as they would jump out to a 10-6 lead and force SFU to call a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Red Flash would keep things close by knotting things up at 16. The rest of the set remained close until Pioneers broke would away and take the set, 25-22.
Set Three
The third set opened up by both teams exchanging points, but SHU would eventually break away to take a 16-10 lead and force SFU to call a timeout. The Pioneers would build some insurance and hold its lead the rest of the way to win the set, 25-21.
The Red Flash will look to bounce back tomorrow as they head to Cambridge, MA, to take on conference rival Harvard. Match will begin at 7 p.m.
