Newark, NJ- The Saint Francis men's volleyball team came away with the victory on Saturday night as they won in four sets. over NJIT.Â

With the win, Saint Francis improves to 8-11 on the season and 3-4 in conference play, while NJIT falls to 3-11 and 1-4 in the EIVA.

Set One
After
Brandon Buck (Baden, Pa./Ambridge) opened the match with a kill, both teams began to trade points back and forth. The rest of the way was a seesaw battle as neither team gaining an advantage. SFU would eventually go on a 2-0 run and win the first set, 25-23.

Set Two
After a close first set, SFU would jump out to a 8-5 lead in the second set and force NJIT to call a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Red Flash would keep the momentum and the pressure flowing as they would go on to win the set, 25-21.

Set Three
Down 2-0, the Highlanders take an early lead, 6-2 before the Red Flash would battle back to tie things up at 7-7. The set would remain a back and forth battle until NJIT would go on a 5-1 run to take a 22- 18 lead and force SFU to call a timeout. The Highlanders would keep their energy from the timeout and win the set, 25-20.

Set Four
NJIT would open the set with a 13-10 lead before the Red Flash would battle back to tie things up at 14. SFU would eventually go on a late run and win the set, 25-22.

Saint Francis continues on the road, as their first stop will be in St. Charles, Missouri to take on Lindenwood University. They will then head north to Lebanon, Illinois to take on McKendree University. Both matches are slated to start at 7 p.m.
