LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis Women's Tennis team takes on St. Bonaventure and Duquesne this weekend in Pittsburgh. The Red Flash faces the Bonnies on Friday at 2 p.m. at The Club Sport and Health in Monroeville. SFU meets Duquesne on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center.
The Red Flash, led by Head Coach
Rob Castille, is 4-10 overall and 3-1 in the NEC after a 5-2 win over Mount St. Mary's last weekend. SFU's matches this weekend will be its final preparation for the NEC Tournament.
Sophomore
Lucia Seigford (Madrid, Spain/Mirasur) earned a win at No. 1 against Mount St. Mary's. Junior
Raksha Bode (Reunion, Fla./Florida Virtual School) picked up a win at No. 3, while freshman
Nastasia Tamarkin (Washington, D.C./School Without Walls) won her match at No. 4. Junior
Stephanie Miller (Washington, D.C./St. John's College High School) collected a win at No. 5.
Laura Gutierrez (Bogota, Colombia/Cibercolegio UCN) and Tamarkin claimed a victory at No. 1 doubles, while Bode and Seigford won at No. 2.
Tamarkin leads the team with a 9-4 record, including a 4-1 mark at No. 4. Miller is 8-5 this Spring, with a 5-3 record at No. 4. Bode has six wins this season at No. 3, while Gutierrez and Seigford have four wins each.
Gutierrez and Tamarkin are 7-6 at No. 1 doubles, while Bode and Seigford are 5-2 at No. 2.
St. Bonaventure is 1-15 overall and 0-3 in the Atlantic 10. Gabrielle Bowe has four wins this Spring at No. 1, while Dominique Mortier has four wins at No. 2. Bowe and Kahlei Reisinger have six wins at No. 1 doubles.
Duquesne has an 11-3 record this season, including a 3-1 record in Atlantic 10 play. Kylie Isaacs is 12-2 at No. 1 singles, while Julianne Herman is 13-1 at No. 2. Herman and Isaacs are 10-2 at the top doubles position.
