Loretto, Pa. - Twelve Saint Francis water polo players were honored by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for their academic performance during the 2017-18 school year.
Heading the group was
Erin O'Neill (Landsdale, Pa/North Penn) and
Krysta Ponek (Panama City Beach, Fla./Arnold (Utica College)), the only two members of the team to earn "Outstanding" All-Academic honors for achieving a gpa above 3.71.
The Red Flash also were one of just 54 water polo programs in the country to earn the ACWPCÂ Team Academic Award for maitaining a team gpa over 3.0. Saint Francis's team mark of 3.30 was 19th in the country.
Nominations were made by head coaches with student-athletes recognized on three levels based on their GPA: Outstanding (3.71 to 4.0), Superior (3.41 to 3.70) and Excellent (3.20 to 3.40).Â
