Somerset, N.J. – The Saint Francis men's basketball team was picked third in the league's 2019-20 Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced on Wednesday at the leagues Media Day at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. The poll is selected by the league's 11 head coaches.
 
LIU topped the poll with five of 10 available first-place votes and was followed by Sacred Heart with three first-place votes.
 
Saint Francis received one first-place vote and finished third in the poll and was followed by the 2019-20 NEC champion Fairleigh Dickinson Knights with the remaining two first-place votes.
 
Saint Francis and LIU are the only two teams to enter the season with two 1,000 point scorers. The Red Flash feature 2018-19 NEC Player of the Year Keith Braxton (Glassboro, N.J./Delsea) and 1,000 point scorer Isaiah Blackmon (Charlotte, N.C./West Charlotte) while LIU returns Raiquan Clark and Jashaun Agosto.

Braxton was SFU's lone representative on the Preseason All-Conference Team and was joined by Clark, E.J. Anosike (Sacred Heart), Jahlil Jenkins (Fairleigh Dickinson) and Adam Grant (Bryant).
 
The Red Flash have won 35 league games since the start of the 2016-17, more than any other team in the league, and have appeared in two of the last three title games.
 
Saint Francis shred the 2018-19 regular-season title with Fairleigh Dickinson, its first regular-season championship since 1990-91, and earned a berth in the NIT for the first time since 1958.
 
Head coach Rob Krimmel returns three starters and eight significant contributors in 2019-20. The Red Flash will open its season on Wed., Nov. 5 at No. 25 VCU.
