Lynchburg, Va.- The Red Flash come up short alongside some notable performances this weekend after the TYR '85 Invite at Liberty University. Competing against tough competition, the Flash were able to hold their own all weekend even though they came in in 9^th place.

Seniors Kristen Toth (Silver Spring, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and Erin O'Neill (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and juniors Katelyn O'Connor (Torrance, Calif./South High) and Camille Nguyen (Mason, Ohio/Mason) took an 11^th place finish in the 4 x 50-yard freestyle in a time of 1:36.49.

Senior Sabrina Bowman (Vandergrift, Pa./Saint Joseph's) had herself a day with many notable performances including the a 10^th place finish in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:07.17 and a very impressive 6^th place performance in the 100-yard Butterfly in a time of 54.91.

Sophomore Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School) took a 16^th place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a speedy time of 23.86.

The 4 x 100 yard medley team of junior Urska Medvesek (Maribor, Slovenia/Gymnasium Maribor), sophomores Julia Bradford (Edinboro, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) and Rebecca Pendleton (Maple Glen, PA/Upper Dublin High Schhol), and freshman Krysta Weik (Lebanon, Pa/Cedar Crest) took a 17^th place finish in a time of 3:54.44.

In the 400-yard IM senior Karilyn Quon (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) did what she does best and took an 11^th place finish in a time of 4:30.31.

Junior Katelyn O'Connor (Torrance, Calif./South High) took a 13^th place finish in the finals in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:05.20.

A big weekend for sophomore Amelia Laudenbach (Kambah, Australia/Trinity Christian School) where she swam the 1650-yard freestyle and placed 16^th overall with a time of 17:33.0 and two minutes later competed in the 200-yard breaststroke where she placed 24^th in a time of 2:07.83.

It was a long three days for the Red Flash, but their resiliency prevailed and were able to have some notable performances. Up next for the Saint Francis University swim team will be a trip to Pittsburgh, PA to compete at Duquesne University Saturday, January 18^th.
