Women's Tennis announces signing of Ma-Ajong

Loretto, Pa. – Saint Francis women's tennis is excited to announce the signing of Anouk Ma-Ajong.

Ma-Ajong comes to Loretto as a transfer student after spending her freshman season at Western Illinois University. She will begin competing at Saint Francis as a sophomore in the fall and intends to major in International Business.

The Paramaribo, Suriname native played high school tennis at the Sagemont School in Weston, Fla. Ma-Ajong was nominated first team All-Broward tennis. She was ranked No. 1 in her home country in South America for both the U-14 and U-18 age groups. Ma-Ajong was ranked No. 3 in the Caribbean U-14. She moved to the United States at age 16 to further pursue a tennis career and has competed in both the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and United States Tennis Association (USTA).

Head Coach Lisa Swope on Ma-Ajong: "Anouk will be a great addition to the team having college playing experience as well as doubles experience. We are looking forward to her being a Red Flash."
