Â
Neither team threated in the second or third. Troxell led off the Red Flash fourth with another shot to center, this one clearing the wall for her second home run of the season, putting SFU up 5-0.
That proved to be the game winner as Kent State rallied back with four in the fifth inning off Clark. A hit batter, single, double and error helped the Golden Flashes climb with in one at 5-4. But Clark rose to the challenge and stranded the tying run at second to end the fifth.
Â
Meadow Uncapher (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant High School) relieved Clark in the sixth and side-stepped a hit batter and single to strand the tying run at second base for the second-straight inning. Cheyenne McKee's (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) head and out into right for a single, moving the tying run to third. However, the righty bared down and got a more traditional groundout to second to end the threat, and the game.
