BOX SCORE Harrisonburg, Va. - The Saint Francis football team dropped to 1-1 on the season with a 44-7 loss at No. 2 James Madison.
The Dukes set the tone by taking the opening drive 75-yards in eight plays capped by a Solomon Vanhorse rushing touchdown.
The Saint Francis defense dug in with stops on three consecutive JMU possessions including a fumble recovery forced by junior Martin Foray Jr. before the Dukes made it 14-0 with a 42-yard passing touchdown late in the first quarter.
Saint Francis gained first downs on its first two plays from scrimmage, a 15-yard run by redshirt junior
Avery Miliner (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) and a 16-yard scamper by redshirt junior
Zach Campbell (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist), but was held without a first down for the rest of the half as the Red Flash trailed 27-0 at the half.
Trailing 37-0, Saint Francis got on the board in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard touchdown reception by E.J. Jenkins, his second of the season. Freshman tailback
Chris Wells (Philadelphia PA/Neumann-Goretti) was instrumental on the drive, running for 31 yards on six carries on the drive.
The SFU defensive effort was led by senior linebacker
Da'Jon Lee (Falls Church, Va. /Robinson) who was credited for a career-high 13 tackles to go with 3.5 tackles for a loss and a sack. Foray also set a career-high in tackles with 13 to go with the first quarter forced fumble.

Gio Vonne Sanders (Jeannette, PA/Jeannette) and sophomore Brian Lee Jr. were SFU's other top tackles with nine and seven respectively, both career-highs.

Jason Brown (Fredericksburg, Va./Chancellor) finished the game 11-for-26 for 96 yards and a TD.

Ra'Shaun Henry (Killeen, Texas /Copperas Cove) led SFU's pass catchers with five grabs for 60 yards while Wells paced the ground game with 36 yards on eight carries.
Saint Francis is back in action next Saturday in its home opener vs. Merrimack. Kickoff is set for noon.
