LORETTO, Pa. – Coming off its best performance of the season, Saint Francis football hits the road in search of its first win this season. The Red Wolves will meet Westminster College (2-4, 2-2 PAC) in another Presidents' Athletic Conference showdown. Saturday's kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
Head coach
Chris Villarrial's team fell to Saint Vincent last weekend 17-14. While it's a loss in the standings, there were plenty of small victories to celebrate.
On offense, the young Red Wolves offensive line rose up to the challenge as the team racked up 168 yards rushing.
Elijah Villarrial was a workhouse carrying the ball 22 times for 109 yards.
Quarterback
Ashton Walk started the game from start to finish for the first time this season. He enjoyed a great connection with tight end
Scott Raymond who caught 6 passes for a career-high 102 yards. Last Saturday marked the first time Saint Francis had both a running back and wide receiver gain over 100 yards in a game since 2023.
On defense, Saint Francis held the Bearcats to under 300 yards of offense.
Gavin Hockenberry led the team with seven tackles.
Kameron Chisholm added five, plus two tackles for a loss.
"There were two big plays that really hurt us in the game and the guys know that," Villarrial said. "We have a great group of young men. A lot of teams by now could have packed it in. They are still fighting and still hungry. That's a great attribute to have with this team."
