Pittsburgh, PA – The Saint Francis University Swim team came up short this afternoon in Pittsburgh, PA against a tough Duquesne University squad. The Red Flash recorded 113 pts and the Dukes came out on top with a total of 149 points.
Meet Overview- The tough loss was highlighted by a few notable performances this Saturday afternoon.
The 400 yd medley relay team of junior
Urska Medvesek (Maribor, Slovenia/Gymnasium Maribor), junior
Katelyn O'Connor (Torrance, Calif./South High), senior
Sabrina Bowman (Vandergrift, Pa./Saint Joseph's), and sophomore
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School) took a first-place finish in a time of 3:58.56.
In the 1,000 yd freestyle two freshman led the pack placing first and second.
Shauna Abair (Lantana, Fl/Home School) took first with a time of 10:56.23.
Julia Springer (North Chesterfield, Va./James River) was not far behind taking second place in a time of 11:06.45.
Senior
Karilyn Quon (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) took second in the 100 yd backstroke in a time of 1:00.14.
Sophomore
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School) dominated in the 50 yd freestyle taking the first overall spot in a time of 24.83.
Another first-place finish came from senior
Sabrina Bowman (Vandergrift, Pa./Saint Joseph's) in the 100 yd freestyle. He clocked in at 53.40 seconds.
Sophomore
Amelia Laudenbach (Kambah, Australia/Trinity Christian School) as well brought in a first-place finish in the 200 yd backstroke in a time of 2:07.07.
In the 100 yd butterfly, sophomores
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School) and
Rebecca Pendleton (Maple Glen, PA/Upper Dublin High Schhol) took first and second place finishes. McCullough took first in a time of 58.27 and Pendleton was close behind in second clocking in at 1:00.45.
Your Red Flash swim team will be back in action January 25
th when they head to Pittsburgh University to take on the panthers.
