Men's tennis drops decision to Lehigh

Bethlehem, Pa. – Saint Francis men's tennis dropped a 7-0 decision to Lehigh on Saturday at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.

Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador/Compuinformatica) fell at No. 1 singles to Lehigh's Zack Elliot, 6-0, 6-2. SFU's Jordi Garcia (Barcelona, Spain/IES Vallès) couldn't overcome Harry Wang in a 6-3, 6-1 defeat at No. 2. In No. 3 singles, the Mountain Hawks' Gary Fishkin knocked off Daniel Vinces (Lima, Peru/Universidad de Piura), 6-3, 6-3.

The Red Flash's Andrew Teixeira (Sao Paulo, Brazil/ETEC Getúlio Vargas) fell at No. 4 to Matt Kleiman, 6-2, 6-2. With the overall match decided, Lehigh's Jacob Edelchik defeated Christian Banti (Pisa, Italy/IISS Antonio Pesenti) in a pro set, 8-6. SFU's Samuel Ghigiarelli (Aruja, Brazil/Jacksonville College) fell at No. 6 singles to Jack Martin-Dyer, 8-4.

In No. 1 doubles, Wang and Elliott defeated Pinos and Garcia, 6-4. Lehigh's Fishkin and Edelchik knocked off Vinces and Derek Roehner (Weston, FL/Cypress Bay) at No. 2, 6-1. The Red Flash's Banti and Teixeira took No. 3 over Martin-Dyer and Andrew Nakhjavan, 7-5.

Saint Francis returns to action at Youngstown State on Friday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m.
