Pittsburgh, PA - The Saint Francis University Swim team came out on top twice yesterday as they made a trip to Pittsburgh to compete in a dual meet at the University of Pittsburgh. Here they tallied two wins where they swam against Clarion (159-63) and California University of PA (188-38). The Red Flash came up short against Carnegie Mellon University (171-116), Duquesne University (191-94), and University of Pittsburgh (238-37).
Senior
Sabrina Bowman (Vandergrift, Pa./Saint Joseph's) took a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke and the 50-yard freestyle, and a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke to complete her stellar performance from Saturday.
Fellow senior
Erin O'Neill (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) was right behind Bowman placing fifth in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.87.
Sophomore
Annabelle McCullough (Mercersburg, PA./James Buchanan High School) came in at sixth in the 200-yard freestyle and took a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle.
Junior
Katelyn O'Connor (Torrance, Calif./South High) placed eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.80.
Sophomore
Amelia Laudenbach (Kambah, Australia/Trinity Christian School) took an overall fifth place finish in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:13.83.
Sophomore
Julia Bradford (Edinboro, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) placed tenth in the 100-yard butterfly and kept her time under a minute coming in at 59.63.
In the 400 IM, senior
Karilyn Quon (Tempe, Ariz./Corona del Sol) placed sixth overall in a time of 4:37.54 and sophomore
Rebecca Pendleton (Maple Glen, PA/Upper Dublin High Schhol) took an overall ninth place finish in a time of 4:46.29.
Up next for the Red Flash is a trip to Loudonville, NY to Siena College this coming Saturday, February 1
