Loretto, Pa. – The Red Flash men's volleyball team (4-9, 1-3 EIVA) is preparing for midweek conference action, hosting #9 Penn State (8-6, 4-0 EIVA) on Tuesday night at DeGol Arena.
Scouting Penn State
After a sweep of Harvard on Saturday, the #9 Nittany Lions sit alone at the top of the EIVA at 4-0. Penn State will ride a four-match win streak into Loretto and will run into a Red Flash team coming off its first conference win.
Penn State is leading its opponents in many major categories, including kills (672-623), assists (622-589), aces (98-49) and digs (455-435). They also have just half the errors of their opponents (49-98).
On offense, the Nittany Lions are led by sophomore Brett Wildman, who has 199 kills and attacks at .327. Penn State has four other players with at least 70 kills, including redshirt-senior Calvin Mende, who is second on the team with 95. Dishing out Penn State's assists is sophomore Cole Bogner, who has 548 of the teams 622 assists.
Defensively, Will Bantle leads the team with 111 digs. Redshirt-senior Jason Donorovich has picked up 44 block assists, good for first on the team, and two solo blocks, tied with four others for second on the team.

The Nittany Lions are on a five-match win streak against the Red Flash, including a sweep in 2019. Last season, Penn State beat SFU in Loretto, 3-1. Michael Fisher (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led that match with 24 kills.

After a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to Harvard on Friday night, the Red Flash turned around quickly and picked up a convincing 3-0 win against Sacred Heart on Saturday. SFU will look to build off the momentum and upset a nationally-ranked Nittany Lion team at home.
