Red Flash hit the road to play at Wagner and Sacred Heart

Staten Island, N.Y. – Saint Francis women's basketball (10-12, 8-3 NEC) hits the road to play at Wagner (7-13, 3-6 NEC) on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. and Sacred Heart (8-13, 5-5 NEC) on Monday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
 
Scouting Wagner
The Seahawks are coming off a heartbreaking 62-61 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday. Despite only winning three games so far in conference play, Wagner has played several close games decided by one or two possessions. The Seahawks fell to NEC unbeaten Robert Morris 51-47 on Jan. 11. Wagner is averaging 61.7 ppg, while allowing 69.2 ppg. Sophomore Emilija Krista Grava paces the team in scoring and rebounding with 15.9 pgg and 5.9 rpg, while junior Khaleah Edwards is second, averaging 11.1 ppg and 5.3 rpg.
 
Series History
Saint Francis leads the all-time series history 49-22 and has won five straight over Wagner. The Red Flash knocked off the Seahawks 51-50 earlier this season on Jan. 13 in Loretto.
 
Scouting Sacred Heart
The Pioneers are coming off back-to-back losses to Mount St. Mary's and St. Francis Brooklyn. Sacred Heart started NEC play 3-0, but have gone 2-5 since to sit at .500. The Pioneers are averaging 60.0 ppg, while allowing 61.9 ppg. Junior Adrianne Hagood leads the team in scoring with 16.8 ppg. Despite only playing in eight games, junior Abigail Kangudie is averaging a team-high 7.4 rpg.
 
Series History
Saint Francis is 17-24 in the all-time series history with Sacred Heart. The Red Flash have won the past two meetings with the Pioneers, including a 60-58 victory earlier this season on Jan. 18 in Loretto.
 
Thomas records career-best in rebounds
Junior Haley Thomas (Hooversville, PA/Bishop McCort) had a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in SFU's 72-68 win over CCSU on Monday. It was the Hooversville Pa. native's third double-double of the season.
 
Swogger steps up
Junior Karson Swogger (Bellwood, PA/Bellwood-Antis) scored 15 points, while dishing out a season-high seven assists in the win over CCSU. It was the most points Swogger had scored since matching her career-best 29 points against St. Francis Brooklyn on Jan. 11.
