LORETTO, PA - Hosting camps, clinics and special events is a part of recruiting and also fundraising for the Red Flash. Our Cheerleading, Dance and Mascot teams have put together a schedule of events for all ages to watch or participate. Proceeds from these events go toward funding their competition season. From February through April each year, our teams compete against other universities to be crowned champions in their respective divisions. This process mostly motivates us to work hard at practice, weight training, and tumbling lessons but is also bragging rights when recruiting incoming athletes.

Additional revenue raised will help to fund our summer camp. This is a time for the new team to bond and learn new skills for the upcoming year. We work on safety measures, technique, crowd interaction as well as meeting athletes from other universities. Summer camp is really where the tone for the year is set. Putting in the work over the summer lessens the demand of intense practices during our fall season.Â

Eight dancers and cheerleaders have been paired up with SFU students or staff to learn a dance of their choice. They then perform that dance for judges. It is free to SFU students (with a $2 recommended but not necessary donation) and $5 for anyone else. Between performances, spectators will be entertained with other showcases and a very funny MC.

There is no charge to perform, but there is a $5 spectator fee (includes coaches). Time limit is 3 minutes and your goal should be to showcase your talent.
