PHILADELPHIA – Saint Francis University men's tennis players
Sebastian Pinos (Quito, Ecuador) and
Andrew Teixeira (Sao Paulo, Brazil) finished the team's fall season at the ITA Regional Tournament this past weekend.
The doubles combination of Pinos and Teixeira defeated Nick Salazar and Peter Komozinski of Rider, 8-2, in Friday's Round of 64. After advancing to Saturday's Round of 32, the duo fell to Alafia Ayeni and Vladislav Melnic of Cornell, 8-4. The doubles team from Cornell advanced to the Final Four, being played on Monday.
Pinos, a senior, fell in Friday's Singles Round of 128 to Bryant's Diego Serra Sparrow, 6-2, 6-3. Teixeira, a sophomore, fell in the Qualifier's Singles Draw on Thursday to Binghamton's Shouya Verma in a tight 7-6(2), 7-6(6) battle.
The Red Flash concluded their fall season at the ITA Regional Tournament, as they prepare for the spring season.
