PHILADELPHIA – Saint Francis University women's tennis wrapped up their fall season at the ITA Regional Tournament this past weekend.
Valeria Vinces (Lima, Peru),
Dominique Yeo (Leiden, Netherlands) and
Anouk Ma-Ajong (Paramaribo, Suriname) each won a singles' match over the weekend.
Friday's Singles Round of 128 featured four Red Flash players and three victories. Vinces came back to defeat NJIT's Advaita Saravanan, 0-6, 6-4, 10-8. Yeo dominated her opponent, Andrea Roque of St. Bonaventure, 6-2, 6-1, while Ma-Ajong defeated Niagara's Mercedes Velasco, 6-2, 6-2. All-three advanced to the Singles Round of 64 on Saturday and lost their respective matches.
In doubles, Yeo and
Anoek Pruijmboom defeated Kayla Solangnier and April Sanchez of Hofstra, 8-4. The duo advanced to the Doubles Round of 32, where they fell to Ting-Chieh Wei and Veronika Kulhava of Temple, 8-5.
The weekend in Philadelphia marked the final fall competition for the Red Flash as they prepare for the spring season.
