EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Saint Francis women's tennis team (3-8) fell to LIU (3-0) in its Northeast Conference opener on Saturday by a 7-0 mark. Juniors

Romina Cutipa each took their singles matches to three sets but could not win set three to earn the point.

SINGLES
Cutipa was neck-in-neck with LIU's Storkaas at No. 3 singles. Storkaas claimed set one in extra, earning the narrow 7-6 win, before Cutipa won set two by a deciding 6-0 margin. Cutipa was edged out in set three 6-4 as the Sharks claimed the point.
Ma-Ajong also pushed her singles match to three sets, but ultimately fell to Erechtchenko at No. 2 singles. LIU took the first set 6-1 before Ma-Ajong earned the 6-4 victory in set two. Erechtchenko won the match with a 6-2 victory in set three.
Nagisa Miyake and Jorjoliani required extra in set one of their No. 4 singles match but Jorjoliani would win, 7-5, 6-3.
At No. 1 singles,
Dominique Yeo fell to Kuzina, 6-4, 6-2.
Marie Discini lost her No. 5 singles match in straight sets, 6-3.
DOUBLES
The Sharks earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 doubles. Both SFU doubles teams were defeated 6-0 as Cutipa and Yeo made up the Red Flash's No. 1 doubles team and Miyake and Ma-Ajong played at No. 2 doubles.
