LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis men's and women's tennis teams are on the road this weekend at Sacred Heart. The women's match is scheduled for Friday at noon while the men's match is scheduled for Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Sacred Heart women hold a 4-4 overall record and a 3-1 record against Northeast Conference opponents. SHU is scheduled to play at Quinnipiac on Thursday afternoon before hosting the Red Flash. The Pioneers earned conference wins against Fairleigh Dickinson, St. Francis Brooklyn and Merrimack before losing their most recent match at Bryant.
The Sacred Heart men hold a 0-6 overall record and a 0-3 NEC record as they are set to play at Quinnipiac on Thursday and NJIT on Friday prior to hosting Saint Francis. The Pioneer men most recently lost at St. Francis Brooklyn by a 6-1 margin on March 19 as its final two March matches were canceled.
SERIES WITH THE PIONEERS
The Saint Francis and Sacred Heart men most recently met twice during the 2018 season with the Red Flash earning a 5-2 win in the March 23 match and a 4-1 win in the first match of the Northeast Conference Championships. Pinos won his doubles match in the March 23 match and his singles match in straight sets in the NEC Championships match.
The SFU and SHU women played twice in the 2019 season with the Pioneers winning during the regular season by a 4-3 margin and in the first match of the NEC Championships by a 4-1 margin.

LAST TIME OUT
The Red Flash women beat Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday by a 4-3 margin while the Red Flash men fell to FDU 7-0. The SFU women earned victories at both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles as well as wins in straight sets at No. 4 singles from
Marie Discini and No. 5 singles from
Nagisa Miyake. Earlier this week, Miyake was named an NEC Prime Performer for her wins against FDU.
