STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Saint Francis football redshirt senior
Sam Cummings was recently honored by the National Football Foundation Central Pennsylvania Chapter as a Scholar-Athlete Award recipient.
Cummings is currently in pursuit of his Masters of Business Administration and holds a 3.78 GPA. He is an NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and was a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Award. He has also contributed to Saint Francis' community service endeavors, working with the Dorothy Day Outreach Center, Special Olympics, Saint Michael's School, and the YMCA.
The defensive lineman from New Jersey played in all 11 games in 2019, totaling 24 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Cummings has appeared in 22 games in his Red Flash career with 35 tackles (16 solo) and 10.0 tackles for loss.
Saint Francis will begin its 2021 season on Friday, Sept. 3 at Eastern Michigan. A full schedule will be released later this spring.
