SOMERSET, N.J. – Saint Francis men's basketball alum
Mike Iuzzolino has been selected to the Northeast Conference Mount Rushmore for men's basketball, the NEC announced Wednesday.
Iuzzolino scored 1,346 points in his two seasons in Loretto (1989-91), including a program-record 772 points in his senior season as he helped lead the Red Flash to the NCAA Tournament. Iuzzolino was named NEC Player of the Year in 1990-91 and earned CoSIDA Academic All-America Player of the Year honors. Iuzzolino is joined by head coach
Rob Krimmel as the only two-time CoSIDA Academic All-America selections in NEC men's basketball history.
The Altoona native was the 35
th overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1991 NBA Draft and played 12 professional seasons before retiring in 2003. He enters his 17
th season as a collegiate assistant coach in 2021-22 and his sixth at Robert Morris. Iuzzolino was elected into the Saint Francis Hall of Fame in 2001.
Iuzzolino is joined on the NEC Mount Rushmore by Terrance Bailey of Wagner, Rik Smits of Marist, and Desi Wilson of Fairleigh Dickinson.
