LEWISBURG, Pa. – Zach Palko went 5-0 in singles and doubles to power the Saint Francis University men's tennis team at the Bucknell Invitational over the weekend.

Palko won all three singles matches he played. He started the event with a thrilling 6-7 (5), 6-1, 14-12 win against Oliver Fiallo of Lafayette and then earned another three-set win with a 4-6, 6-3, 10-3 win against Matt Andrus of Niagara before dispensing Luke Ritchey of Lafayette 6-3, 6-4. Andrus, who he defeated in singles, would also be his doubles partner and the duo would defeat Ross Coleman and David Esslinger of Lafayette and then would take care of Palko's teammates Jordi Garcia and Samuel Ghigiarella, 7-6 (9).

Sabastian Pinos also had a nice weekend with three singles wins. Pinos downed Manuel Alonzo of Niagara, 6-2, 4-6-10-2, teammate Andrew Teixiera, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4 and William Goethlin of Niagara 6-4, 1-6, 10-1. Teixiera won his two matches against other teams with a 6-4, 7-5 win against Michael Owen of Bucknell and a 6-0, 6-1 win against Andrus.

Samuel Ghigiarelli won all three of his singles bouts. He defeated Ritchey of Lafayette 6-0, 6-0, Roberto Vaca of Niagara 6-0, 2-6, 10-8 and Coleman of Lafayette 7-5, 6-2.

Marc Fuste won his final two matches thanks to a 7-6 (4) win against Arman Ganchi of Lafayette and a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Josh Wolfe of Lafayette. Fuste and Fabio Varella earned doubles wins against Coleman/Ganchi (6-2) of Lafayette and a 6-4 win against Nick Mueller and Tim Zelikovsky of Bucknell.

Garcia was also victorious twice in the two days with singles wins in his final two matches. Garcia defeated Coleman of Lafayette 6-2, 6-1 and Gurustat Makkar of Niagara, 6-1 in the first set before Makkar retired.

Sunday's scheduled was cancelled due to the weather.

Saint Francis returns to action at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational starting on Friday.
