LORETTO, Pa. – Saint Francis University men's and women's tennis start their 2022 campaign with a trip to Navy on Saturday, Jan. 22 and Morgan State on Sunday, Jan. 23.

Women's Last Time Out
The Red Flash wrapped up their fall season with a visit to the ITA Regional Tournament. Valeria Vinces, Dominique Yeo and Anouk Ma-Ajong each won a singles match during the tournament. Yeo defeated Andrea Roque of St. Bonaventure, 6-2, 6-1, Ma-Ajong defeated Niagara's Mercedes Velasco, 6-2, 6-2 and Vinces came back to defeat Advaita Saravanan of NJIT, 0-6, 6-4, 10-8. The doubles combination of Yeo and Anoek Pruijmboom defeated Hofstra's Kayla Solangnier and April Sanchez, 8-4, before they fell in the Doubles Round of 32.
 
Scouting Navy
Navy enters the 2022 season after a narrow 4-3 loss to Boston University in the 2021 Patriot League Tournament final. The Midshipmen won the doubles point during the final, but the Terriers rallied to win four singles matches. Navy defeated Colgate 4-0 in the quarterfinals and Army 4-3 in the semifinals to advance to the finals. Navy finished ranked 10th in the ITA Atlantic Region rankings last season. Midshipmen players Jillian Taggart and Emily Tannenbaum competed in this past fall's ITA Super Regional Championship, which hosted the top-32 players in the region.
 
Last Match vs. Navy
The Midshipmen defeated the Red Flash 7-0 on Jan. 18, 2020. Anouk Ma-Ajong and Romina Cutipa are the only two Red Flash players to compete in the match. Lucia Seigford provided the best showing for Saint Francis with her 4-6, 3-6 loss to Navy's Meghana Komarraju.

Navy holds an 11-0 advantage over Saint Francis since the program's inaugural matchup on Jan. 30, 2010. The Red Flash have just six points in the matchup's 11-game history, all via singles match wins. Navy had its smallest margin of victory with a 5-2 win in 2017 and recorded six 7-0 wins.
 
Scouting Morgan State
Morgan State had its entire 2021 schedule canceled after a 4-7 2020 campaign that was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Only two Bears players, Averiana Mitchell and Asmara Rose, remain on the team since their last full season in 2018-19.
 
Last Match vs. Morgan State
The Bears defeated the Red Flash 4-0 on Jan. 19, 2020. Romina Cutipa is the only current Red Flash player to compete in the match, as she fell in a doubles match with Lucia Seigford, 6-3.
 
All-Time vs. Morgan State
Morgan State holds a 2-1 advantage over Saint Francis since the first matchup in 2009. Saint Francis' only victory came in a 4-3 win on Jan. 20, 2019. All-four wins in the match came via singles victories, one of the wins from current Red Flash player Romina Cutipa. The Bears earned their two victories by a combined 10-1 advantage.

Men's Last Time Out
The Red Flash concluded their 2021 fall season when Sebastian Pinos and Andrew Teixeira competed at the ITA Regional Tournament in mid-October. In doubles, Pinos and Teixeira defeated Nick Salazar and Peter Komozinski of Rider, 8-2, in the Round of 64. In the following day's Round of 32, the duo fell to Alafia Ayeni and Vladislav Melnic of Cornell, 8-4. Both fell in their respective singles matches during the Qualifier's Singles Draw.
 
Scouting Navy
The Midshipmen won the Patriot League finals with a 4-2 win over Army after they defeated Lafayette 4-0 in the quarterfinals and Colgate 4-0 in the semifinals. Their only loss of the season came in a 4-0 defeat to No. 19 Oklahoma State in the NCAA Tournament. In the tournament, current Navy player Derrick Thompson became the third player in school history to win a singles set in the NCAA Tournament under the current format. In the fall's ITA Atlantic Regional, Navy took 12 singles and five doubles victories.
 
Last Match vs. Navy
The Midshipmen defeated the Red Flash 7-0 on Jan. 20, 2018. Saint Francis' Alec Dylan Foo-Kune and Charles Morkel recorded a No. 1 doubles win, though Navy took No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the point. Franz Luna had the best singles match showing with a 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 loss in No. 2. Sebastian Pinos is the only current Red Flash player that played in the match.

Navy holds a 7-1 advantage over Saint Francis since the matchup's inaugural matchup on Jan. 22, 2011. Saint Francis' only win came in 2016 with a 4-3 victory over the Midshipmen. The victory came behind Saint Francis' only doubles point earned in the matchup's history. The following year, the Red Flash narrowly lost, 4-3. The Midshipmen have three 7-0 victories and three 6-1 wins outside of the two close matches.
 
Scouting Morgan State
In the 2021 season, Morgan State played just two matches, a win over Saint Francis and a loss against Norfolk State, while the other 11 scheduled matches were canceled. Current graduate student Nihit Rawal earned a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week award after the team's win over the Red Flash.
 
Last Match vs. Morgan State
In Saint Francis' only home match, played in 2021, the Bears narrowly won, 4-3. The Red Flash captured the doubles point with a No. 3 doubles win from current Saint Francis players Christian Banti and Daniel Vines. Vinces and Matt Blose earned one singles point each for Saint Francis.

Morgan State holds a 4-0 advantage over the Red Flash since the first meeting on March 22, 2009. Morgan State has one 7-0 victory that came in 2011.
