» Saint Francis University competed at the Gulden Invitational hosted by Bucknell University Saturday.
» Freshman Jackson Tuomey (Brunswick, Md.) won the pole vault, clearing 4.95m. Tuomey broke the Saint Francis school record in the event and won the meet's field athlete MVP.
» Nickolas Hyde (Somerset, Pa.), Mylan Crews (West Alexandria, Ohio), Tobias Jones (Grove City, Pa.) and Emily Lunger (Sayre, Pa.) all recorded first-place finishes.
» The Red Flash women's team took second at the meet, while the men's team took fourth.
FLASH WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD NUGGETS
The women's performance was highlighted by two individual champions.
In the 60m, Crews clocked a time of 7.67, placing her fifth on the Saint Francis all-time performance list.
In the high jump, Lunger cleared 1.70m. Lunger's performance tied her personal best and ranked her second all-time in the event.
Aaliyah Vandergrift (Lindenwold, N.J.) crossed the finish line fifth in the 60m (7.88). In the preliminary heat, Vandergrift clocked a time of 7.78 improving her Saint Francis all-time ranking of seventh in the event, a personal best for the junior.
FLASH MEN'S TRACK & FIELD NUGGETS
The men's side had three individual champions, highlighted by Tuomey's record breaking pole vault. In his debut, Tuomey cleared 4.95m beating the previous record of 4.80m set by Ryan Steinbugl in 2015.
Jones clocked a time of 4:18.74 in his indoor debut taking the one mile run title.
In the shot put, Hyde claimed victory with a mark of 16.52m.
Ardonntrell Williams (Voorhees, N.J.) took second in the 60m hurdles (8.09), putting him third on the Saint Francis all-time performance list.
